Biarritz - France

Surfing

Surfing in Biarritz is, for any European surfer, a trip straight to the heart of European surfing history. The waves that break along the sandy beach of Cote de Basque were first surfed back in 1957. Today some of Europe's biggest surfing competitions take place throughout the summer, including the World Longboard Championships.

Cote de Basque

The waves of Cote de Basque are ideal for all surfers; a short walk along the coast path to the north is the Grand Plage. Some of France's top surfers can be seen here surfing the hollow waves that break right in front of the promenade.

Your surfing lessons take place each day at Cote de Basque or Mabella Beach. Surf school groups are run at a maximum number of eight surfers and are taught by highly experienced and qualified, English speaking instructors.
