Surfing in
Ericeira
| These are just a few of the fantastic surf breaks in the local area. There’s plenty more to find once you arrive. |
1 Coxos |
| Probably the best known break in Ericeira. This amazing powerful right hander reels down the point with two main take off zones. It’s very hollow and works best on low tide and is more suited to intermediate and advance surfers who are after some serious barrel time. |
2 Ribeira |
This very long, high performance right hand point break has many ripable sections. It is also well suited to beginners and intermediates alike. This forgiving wave is great for practising those cutbacks.

3 Pedra Branca |
| This amazingly hollow lefthander breaks on a flat slab reef. It has a steep take off and then barrels down the line. Perfect for goofy footers or grab rail specialists who just want some barrel time. |
4 Reef |
| The shallowest wave in Ericeira, producing epic barrels when it’s on. This spot is suited to advance surfers only, and when working produces amazing barrels. |
5 Praia do Norte |
| Located just north of the town this very ripable right hand point has fun sections and is great for practising your turns whatever your standard. |
6 St Julian |
| This beach break produces quality left and right hand waves and with optimum swell can be epic. The well formed banks fire off perfect barrels everywhere. It can also be suitable for beginners. |
7 Foz do Lizandro |
| Another great beach break producing quality left and right hand waves. It’s hollower at low tide and you can easily find a peak to yourself, with great banks up and down the beach. |
8 São Lourenço |
| Located just to the north of Coxos, this right hand point breaks from deep water and unloads powerful bowling rights. It can handle size too, so if you want to go big then this is the place! |
9 Cave |
| This super sucky right hand wave demands respect and is not for the faint hearted, but if you’re up to the challenge then the cave won’t disappoint. |
