Overview of Surfing Holidays in Ericeira
Our surfing holidays in Ericeira on the west coast of Portugal, are famed for there incredible surfing locations, great accommodation and friendly hosts. The cultural town of Ericeira carefully blends the old with the new. Cobble stoned walkways lead to the long sandy bays of Ribeira d'Ilhas Beach, Orelheira Beach, Calada Beach and not to mention São Julião Beach.

What else can I do?
A surf trip to this part of Portugal is not complete without a visit to the local museum " Museu da Sta. Casa da Misericórdia da Ericeira ". The old town obviously has the majority of historic attractions within it. These include churches and chapels including the 15th century Santa Marta Chapel and the So Sebastio Chapel located at the north end of Ericeira. This dates from the 17th century and is renowned for its unusual architecture - a hexagonal shape with a round dome reminiscent of Arabian buildings. The pillory of Ericeira dates from 1513 and is carved in the popular Portuguese Manueline style.
The former Grand Casino dating from 1919 was later transformed into cinema. More recently it has opened as the Jaime Lobo e Silva Cultural Center.
Who would this location suit?
During the summer months this surfing holiday location is excellent for families, and couples for are starting out in surfing, due to the smaller summer surf. Outside of June, July and August, while it is still possible to learn to surf on the more secluded beaches, the well known surf breaks start to work, making this spot an excellent choice for intermediate to advanced surfers as well.

Anytime from March till November.
